Kansas: il nuovo live album “Leftoverture Live & Beyond” in uscita il 3 Novembre 2017
“Leftoverture Live & Beyond” è il nuovo live album che i Kansas pubblicheranno il prossimo 3 novembre per The Orchard. La release contiene 19 brani selezionati da dodici show registrati durante il “Leftoverture 40th Anniversary Tour” iniziato la scorsa primavera; inoltre saranno presenti anche i grandi classici della band americana, b sides, nuove canzoni tratte dall’ultimo studio album “The Prelude Implicit“, uscito lo scorso settembre 2016 e “Leftoverture” suonato per intero.
“Leftoverture Live & Beyond” sarà disponibile in diversi formati fra cui Doppio CD-Digipack, un box set contenente 4 LP, e su iTunes e Google Play.

Il cantante Lynn Meredith, i tastieristi Don Montre e Dan Wright e Kerry Livgren (chitarra, successivamente alle tastiere) suonavano già assieme nel 1969 in una band chiamata The Reasons Why: Con Scott Kessler (basso) e Zeke Lowe (batteria), dopo aver cambiato il loro nome in Saratoga, cominciano nel 1970 a suonare materiale scritto da Livgren, prima di scegliere definitivamente il nome Kansas e far entrare nuovi membri: Dave Hope (basso), Phil Ehart (batteria) e Larry baker (sassofonista). Con questo organico formarono una band di rock progressivo che prende il nome dallo stato di provenienza (abitavano tutti a Topeka, nel Kansas). Attualmente la band è composta dal batterista originale e fondatore Phil Ehart, Billy Greer (Basso/Voce), David Manion (Tastiere), Ronnie Platt (Voce/Tastiere), David Ragsdale (Violino/Chitarra) e il chitarrista originale Richard Williams.
