Riverside: release speciale di “Wasteland” il 29 Novembre 2019
Release speciale di “Wasteland” (2018) dei Riverside è in uscita il 29 novembre 2019 su Inside Out Music, nei formati 2CD+DVD. “Wasteland – Hi-Res Stereo and Surround Mix” 2CD+DVD sarà pubblicato in digipak e conterrà un DVD bonus con l’intero album in qualità Hi-Res Stereo 24bit version e Surround Mix (4.1) con l’aggiunta di 3 videoclip. Questa versione contiene 5 tracce in versione acustica su un Cd separato.

I Riverside sono un gruppo progressive metal formatosi a Varsavia, Polonia. Si formano nel 2001 grazie a Mariusz Duda, Piotr Grudziński e Piotr Kozieradzki, che condividevano la grande passione per il rock progressivo e per l’heavy metal. Dopo il loro debutto nel 2003, con l’album “Out of Myself“, la band firmò un contratto con una delle major del progressive metal internazionale, la Inside Out Music, realizzando nel 2005 “Second Life Syndrome“, nel 2007 “Rapid Eye Movement“, e nel 2009 “Anno Domini High Definition” che, con un inaspettato cambio di stile, ha per la prima volta diviso la schiera dei fan. Nel 2013 la band pubblica “Shrine of New Generation Slaves” e nel 2015 “Love, Fear and the Time Machine“. Il sound dei Riverside può essere descritto come un mix fra il rock progressivo più classico, l’heavy metal e il progressive metal; alcune loro canzoni richiamano lo stile e le atmosfere dei lavori realizzati da Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Anathema, Pink Floyd, Tool, e Dream Theater. Il 21 febbraio 2016 il chitarrista Piotr Grudzińki muore a causa di un attacco cardiaco fulminante. Il 23 settembre 2016 il gruppo ha annunciato di proseguire la propria attività musicale come trio, senza quindi cercare un nuovo chitarrista.
