Joe Perry: il nuovo album “Sweetzerland Manifesto” in uscita il 19 Gennaio 2018
“Sweetzerland Manifesto” è il nuovo e sesto album solista di Joe Perry in uscita a distanza di otto anno dall’ultimo “Have Guitar, Will Travel“. Il disco del chitarrista degli Aerosmith sarà disponibile dal prossimo 19 Gennaio pubblicato dalla Roman Records. L’album vanterà la presenza di Johnny Depp, compagno di band negli Hollywood Vampires, alla batteria nella cover di “Eve of Destruction“. Il nuovo lavoro è stato prodotto da Perry e Bruce Witkin, con Johnny Depp come produttore esecutivo e Jack Douglas.

Joe Perry, noto principalmente per essere il chitarrista solista e cofondatore degli Aerosmith nel 1969. La band comincia ad avere successo verso la metà degli anni ’70 con una serie di hit in classifica. Basti citare “Toys in the Attic” nel 1975 e “Rocks” nel 1976, questo grazie alle numerose radio libere in onda all’epoca. Il gruppo ebbe anche degli hit singles su AM dial con canzoni come “Dream On“, “Same Old Song and Dance“, “Sweet Emotion” e “Walk This Way“. In questo periodo Joe e il cantante degli Aerosmith, Steven Tyler, divennero noti come i “Toxic Twins”, per il loro abuso di droghe. Ma durante la registrazione del loro album “Night in the Ruts“, Joe e Steven litigano e Joe lasciò la band. Per la fine dell’anno fondò la sua nuova band, The Joe Perry Project. Nel 1984, il manager Tim Collins lavorò al tentativo di ricongiungere Joe con i vecchi membri degli Aerosmith. Joe venne invitato dalla band a tornare indietro, cosa che fece insieme a Brad Whitford. La band era nuovamente insieme e si esibì in un fortunato tour.
